Planting the pomegranate

Two Austrian girls came over to take a break from their strenuous work as child counsellors. I did my best to chauffeur them around, especially since they pointed out that Austrians somewhat crave the beach. I try to commemorate certain individuals by planting fruit trees, as this then creates a history of development. The pomegranate is a wonderful fruit, the first time I came across it was as a child in a Greek Orthodox church. When I saw one whilst walking through the dry river bed it showed itself to me as a unique tree. Like the fig it is a very solo tree and requires extra nurturing in the first years to get going. The flowers, however, are quite stunning. Grow in any type of soil.
