Here we are using agave flower spikes to throw together a teepee. These volunteers I caught cycling through my local village in Catalonia (El Perelló) and invited back for a camp fire, calcots (barbecued onions in salsa), live music, and camping space. The flower spikes grow incredibly fast and most of the gentry burn them when they collapse. I have already started an outdoor kitchen which will use locally sourced bamboo to fill in the spaces. There is even potential to create a cob mix from the quarry residues. It only makes sense when volunteers cut for these materials and build the thing itself. Watch for the fat man (my neighbour) who comes in at the end of the event. His contribution was to entertain us; we can't all be serious.
